Hand made oil on gesso on wood
Once we were allowed to travel within the UK, I visited the landscapes of my childhood. I grew up in the South West of England and this area drew me. The appearance of barrow like forms started to emerge in my work, made using pigments that have a relationship through trade or earth or mining with the area. The barrows struck me with the sense that their forms felt life full as well as performing a role in ceremonial burials.
