Small Ports and Sea Coves Collection
This collection was made thinking about secrets and lies. I chose pigments that had a relationship to the South West Coast of England because of its history of smuggling. The smugglers used to hide their booty under the sea, but of course when the tide went out the booty was revealed. The circular form in these works echo both the truth of the sea, which is that it is the source of all life, and also the tops of the smugglers barels as seem through the surface of the water.
